Natural Monument Bgheri Cave Natural Monument - Tskaltubo
How to get there: the nearest populated area is village Kumistavi of Tskaltubo Municipality, which is 9 km away from Bgheri Cave, 35 minutes by car.
Attraction: The natural monument is a cave shaped by Bgheristskali River with the length of 1700 m and with an area of 14,000 m2. Initially the river creates a gorge with no openings and then flows into a narrow ponor. It starts with 30 m long and 40-50 cm high hole filled with finely divided sand and tree branches washed in from the surface. Estuaries of Bgheristkali river flow into this hole. Here it is joined form the right by constant currents flowing from Melouri and Didghele caves. The river latitudally croses the entire empty space and disappears at the western ending in Nazvavi river and small siphon. Affects of erosional activity is clearly visible at Bgheri Cave.
